Named after the daughter of our company founder Hamid Rahbar, Dorreen Saffron is a family-run business born in 2001.
From the love for our beloved country Iran, and having great contacts with Khorassani farmers, we decided to give the world a taste of what is rooted in our culture for millennia: saffron.
So we take out the precious saffron’s stigma of being inaccessible to everyone, package it and distribute it in the United Arab Emirates.
The response was astonishing.
The word of our saffron was spreading so much that we started to form supplying partnerships with local and major retailers such as Carrefour and Spynneis.
But it came about with the Dubai Duty-free accepting our packaged product as a souvenir travel retail product that the breakthrough happened.
Our products finally begin being appreciated globally.
From that point on, we got such great reviews worldwide that we decided to rebrand and open our personal online retail channel to make our products accessible to anyone.
Our Persian Saffron
Saffron is so rooted in the Iranian culture that is cultivated in more than 20 provinces. However, only 3 provinces account for almost 90% of the country's production: Khorasan Razavi, North Khorasan and South Khorasan provinces.
We source our saffron from private farmers in the South Khorasan Region, more specifically in the province of Ghaen, where its capital Qayen is world-known as the saffron capital of Iran.
The splendid mix of weather and soil rich in nutrients and minerals of this region favor the growth of one of the most special Crocus Sativus (saffron flower) of the world.
We personally support farmers in Khorassan and visit them during the saffron harvesting season in the fall of October.
We guarantee them the export of their crop and help them with new methods of farming such as organic farming and obtaining verified certifications from the government authorities.
